5310 Program Public Meeting

Lextran invites you to attend our upcoming Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program (5310 Program) public meetings. The meetings will be hosted virtually via Webex on Wednesday, September 29, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm and Thursday, September 30, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The purpose of these meeting is to allow stakeholders and community members to identify gaps in service for seniors and individuals with disabilities. If you cannot attend either of the public meetings, please feel free to share your feedback and ideas with us at info@lextran.com or with a Lextran Customer Service Representative at the Downtown Transit Center.

Feedback generated from these meetings will be compiled into the Coordinated Public Transit Human Services Transportation Plan, which can be used as a reference for those interested in applying for the 5310 grant funds. The 5310 Program provides grant funds for capital and operating expenses to recipients for the following:

  • Public transportation projects planned, designed, and carried out to meet the special needs of seniors and individuals with disabilities when public transportation is not sufficient, inappropriate, or unavailable.
  • Public transportation projects that exceed the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990.
  • Public transportation projects that improve access to fixed-route service and decrease reliance on complementary paratransit.
  • Alternatives to public transportation projects that assist seniors and individuals with disabilities with transportation.
